West Balcatta Primary School is located in the northern suburbs, approximately 13 kilometres from the Perth CBD and opened on 7 February 1977. The school enjoys an established reputation within the local community, providing a safe and supportive environment characterised by cooperation and courtesy, which reflects a shared commitment to excellence. To achieve this, the school has created an environment that is dedicated to providing children with a vast array of opportunities to learn, create and become responsible citizens for the future. The West Balcatta Primary School grounds are very attractive and welcoming as they are well maintained and fully reticulated, with seating in shaded areas for parents as well as signage in different languages. The school prides itself on being culturally diverse where languages from 25 countries are spoken in the homes of students. The parent body is comprised of families from 67 different cultures. The school has excellent facilities. All classrooms are heated and air-conditioned and the school also boasts a well-resourced computer laboratory with 22 new computers and an interactive whiteboard, Music room, Art room and Language Room. The school is also fully networked with three computers in each classroom, and some classrooms contain their own electronic whiteboard. The school has a fully automated, purpose-built library which is used by all students from Kindergarten to Year 7. Within the undercover area is a school canteen which operates four days a week.
