Education QLDÂ introduces St Bedes College in Mentone, for all your education and learning needs.
St Bede’s College was established in 1938 by the De La Salle Brothers or, as we are known overseas, The Brothers of The Christian Schools.
The College belongs to a family of schools and other works based in 83 countries around the world. The focus of the Brothers’ works is always the service of the poor through the medium of education. Education in the Christian tradition is the heart and soul of the work.
St Bede’s College is owned by the Trustees, but the specific work of the Brothers is run by an incorporated College Board with the Principal being responsible for the daily organisation and direction of the College. As the current Principal, I have had the privilege of being Principal of five other Colleges, but I have also worked at the Catholic Education Office in Parramatta in the area of leadership and spiritual formation.
St Bede’s College serves the community of the South-Eastern peninsula of Melbourne. The school has a school population of approximately 1,380 students and a total teaching and ancillary staff of 170. The school population has expanded, owing to an additional stream being added to Year 7. There are now 8 streams of classes in Year 7 with the student population expected to exceed 1,400 in two years.
Welcome to St Bedes College one of the popular educators in your Mentone area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other’s uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
