Education QLDÂ introduces Aldgate Primary School in Aldgate, for all your education and learning needs.
Aldgate Primary School is a growing Reception to Year 7 School of 230 students situated on spacious grounds in the Adelaide Hills. Students learn in modern classrooms that were refurbished in 2010 to include outstanding technology and climate control facilities.
The school shares a strong partnership with its community and the site accommodates Aldgate Kindergarten and Mt Lofty Out of School Hours and Vacation Care to provide a range of education and childcare services for the Aldgate Community. Parents are involved in all aspects of the school and support the need for their children to have a strong learning foundation.
The school's philosophy is underpinned by a commitment to 'Learning Together for a Sustainable Future' and all students take part in environmental and sustainable learning activities.
Outstanding teaching and learning is evident in all curriculum areas, with a focus on whole school Mathematics and English. This focus is evident in the high levels of school improvement and individual student progress made in 2010, 2011 and 2012 NAPLAN results.
Our students have the opportunity to be involved in many leadership opportunities as part of the Student Representative Council, and Year 7 students enjoy the responsibility of planning and organising school activities as part of the SRC Executive.
Aldgate students demonstrate high levels of confidence and wellbeing, supported by our 'You Can Do It!' success and wellbeing program. This program is based upon the foundation principles of Getting Along, Organisation, Persistence, Confidence and Resilience. Extra-curricular activities including music, choir, camps and a range of sports are highly valued at our school. Students display great pride when representing our school in off-site activities and the annual aquatics camp is a highlight for years 5, 6 and 7 students.
Teachers at Aldgate Primary School believe that high-quality teaching makes a significant difference to the progress and achievement of learners. Teachers have high expectations of all students and challenge them to be successful, enquiring learners while acknowledging individual differences and learning needs.
In 2013 Aldgate Primary School will have ten classes and teachers will be assisted in the transition from the SACSA Framework to the Australian Curriculum by the employment of a Teaching for Effective Learning and Australian Curriculum Coordinator. Our school provides a positive learning environment that develops socially responsible and respectful students by promoting personal excellence and values for a sustainable future.
Welcome to Aldgate Primary School one of the popular educators in your Aldgate area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other’s uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
