Holgate Public School is a small rural school on the Central Coast of New South Wales. We aim to cater for the individual needs of every pupil by developing independent and responsible students in a small, friendly community based atmosphere. The school, while maximising student performance in the basic subject areas, places an emphasis on the performing arts and concern for the environment. The school's curriculum features: a balanced educational program; successful involvement in state, regional and local sporting activities; computer skills' development with several computers in every classroom; a pupil welfare policy encompassing Learn to Swim, Road Safety, Drug Education, Child Protection; and a Health Promotion Program. Some of the successful programs at Holgate PS include literacy and numeracy ability groups, a variety of GATS in school activities, sporting groups as well as daily fitness sessions, a student parliament, environmental education, a school choir, dance and band groups as well as a dynamic, active After School Program. Community members support our canteen, assist in the implementation of numeracy and literacy programs, coach sporting teams and work in Parents and Citizens' sub-committees.
