Sport and Exercise scientists are concerned with how people respond to the short and long term effects of physical activity and exercise and how this is related to health (chronic diseases/conditions) and human performance (elite athletes).Career opportunities are extremely diverse.Former students are employed in: education/coaching and development (recreation and outdoor education, health education, sport development officer, athlete welfare officer); corporate health; sport/exercise science at institutes and academics of sport (exercise physiologist, biomechanist, sport psychologist, athlete training and rehabilitation); clinical exercise physiology (management of chronic diseases/conditions and injury rehabilitation); sports management (executive director, sports development officer, facility management); and community services (recreation; youth and corrective).
