Education QLDÂ introduces Clarke Road School in Hornsby, for all your education and learning needs.
Clarke Road School is a NSW Department of Education and Training Special School. It is situated in leafy Clarke Road approximately 10 minutes south of Hornsby shopping centre and opposite Hornsby South Primary School. It is part of the Hornsby School Education Area.
Our school provides individualised programs for students, aged from 4 to 18 years, with moderate or severe intellectual disabilities and physical disabilities. In the senior years there is an emphasis on preparation for life beyond school. This is supported by a wide variety of community access programs in the junior years. We have a proud record in sporting achievements, community participation and work experience.
Students at our school are taught by trained, experienced Special Education Teachers and School Learning Support Officiers. Clarke Road School has an active and enthusiastic Parent and Citizen association and School Council. We liaise closely with families in designing the optimal individual education program for each student. We have the support of a school Counsellor and access therapists through the local area School Age Therapy Team (DADHC).
School facilities include a home technology kitchen and computer area, visual arts room, library resource room, trampolines, heated, covered swimming pool, half size tennis court, well-equiped sensory area and two school buses to support our programs.
Welcome to Clarke Road School one of the popular educators in your Hornsby area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other’s uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
