Although situated within the Wagga Wagga central business district, South Wagga Public School continues to run at, or just above, its enrolment ceiling, continuing to receive more applications for enrolment than the number of places which are available each year. Over half of the 205 families with students currently enrolled at the school live outside the school's designated local area. A significant feature of the school is the computer centre which is housed on the mezzanine floor of the school library. This facility, together with classroom computers, ensures that increasing usage of technology in teaching and learning is evident across the school. The school has been able to foster a very open and well structured learning environment where students generally feel safe and happy. A dedicated and committed staff has been successful in developing independent student work habits, self discipline, tolerance and respect for cultural diversity.
