Innisfail State School has a long history and tradition in the Innisfail area. The school was first opened on July 1, 1887 as Geraldton State School in King George Park. The school was renamed Innisfail State School in 1913.
The School offers an education based on character building and character education that are seen as essential components in the school’s curriculum. Our Code of Behaviour is expected to be lived out in the daily life of the school.
Education at Innisfail State School encompasses a wide curriculum, with a special emphasis on the differing needs of students. There is an active Parents and Citizens Association and Student Council.
The foundation for Innisfail State School activity is the School’s Philosophy Statement in conjunction with the School’s Motto:
Working Towards Greater Things.
Welcome to Innisfail State School one of the popular educators in your Innisfail area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other’s uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
